Location Information

Capelle (or Capelle-sur-Ecaillon) is a small village, north of Solesmes. Capelle-Beaudignies Road Cemetery is 1.5 kilometres east of the village, on the south side of the road to Beaudignies (D109).


Visiting Information

Wheelchair access with some difficulty.

The register is available in the Mairie on Monday and Wednesday from 16.00 to 18.00 and Friday from 15.00 to 17.00



Historical Information

Capelle-Beaudignies Road Cemetery was made by the 3rd Division in October-November, 1918, after the capture of the place.

There are now over 50, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. Of these, a small number are unidentified. Eleven German graves of the 31st October, 1918, have been removed.

The cemetery covers an area of 333 square metres and is enclosed by a low brick wall.
