First sequence of the exhibition:
From Friday Oct. 12th 2018 to Tuesday April 30th
By the end of 2017, the museum received an amazing donation from the lacer Henri Beauvillain including sketches and samples. Testimony from the creative lacing industry, those items are showing the design evolution seen in the first part of the 20th century following the fashion changes.
After examining this donation, the museum presents to the public a selection of those items dated 1915-1945 with this exhibit “Fashion Spirit”.
Fashion Spirit, with those samples and sketches, shows the development of the fashion which already includes the modernity found in our actual women accessories and fine clothing. The pieces from the collection museum and recent acquisitions dialogue with lace and embroidery patterns inspired by distinctive art deco style of the period.
Becoming timeless, the 1920-1930 style fashion influences often the actual well-known designers’creations. This exhibition brings together pictures of fashion shows, recent samples of lacing and dresses of famous designers.
