The museum is dedicated to the lace, tulle, embroidery and guipure trades and shows how exceptional this industrial heritage is. Set at the heart of the town in a lace factory which goes back to 1898, the museum manages to convey the atmosphere which prevailed in a real worshop in operation.
On the ground floor a video projection goes back over the history and technique of the lace industry in Caudry (15 minutes).
Then the workshop showing all the machines involved in the making of lace can be visited individually or in groups of 15 (on reservation). A professional tulle worker gives a demonstration of how a Leavers machine works.
On the first floor a temporary exhibition - based on a theme which changes every 4 month - introduces the visitor into the realm of designer clothes in lace, tulle and embroidery.
